A swimming pool cleaning kit that contains all the essential cleaning chemicals for your above-ground pool. This chlorine-based pool chemical kit contains a sanitising chemical plus some additional chemicals to keep the pH at the correct level and algae in check.

This pool chemical kit contains the minimum amount of chemicals you will need for the season.
These include a shock treatment, which is included in the form of stabilised chlorine granules, pH adjustment chemicals to maintain the right level of pH, an algaecide and testing strips.
Together, these form the basics of your pool cleaning routine for the season to make sure your pool water is clean and safe.
What comes in a Basic Pool Starter Kit?
If you’re a new above-ground pool owner and are wondering what each of the chemicals in this kit does, we’ve provided a quick breakdown of the purpose behind each one. Pool maintenance might seem complex at first, but once you know what everything does, you’ll soon find a routine!
1kg Stabilised Chlorine Granules
These form the basis of your main sanitising routine and shock treatment. You can apply these by mixing with water in a bucket to form a solution that can be put straight into the water.
1kg pH Increaser
If the pH of your water drops, then you can add this sodium carbonate as directed in order to bring the pH back up between pH 7.2 and 7.6.
1.5kg pH Reducer
Alternatively, if the pH of your water is getting a little high then you can use this sodium bisulphate solution sodium bisulphate to reduce pH it between pH 7.2 and 7.6.
4 way free Chlorine Test Strips (50 strips)
These are how you can find out what the chlorine concentration of your water is and whether the pH has moved outside of acceptable parameters.
1 Litre Polyquat Algaecide
It’s recommended that you mix algaecide into your pool water to help prevent algae from forming, reducing the need for shock treatments.
