200g Stabilised Chlorine Tablets

Whether you’re new to owning a pool or you’re an expert in pool maintenance, you’ll know the importance of keeping everything clean and clear of any bacteria that could make the water unsafe for swimming. To do this effectively, you’ll need to invest in good-quality disinfectant – and the most common disinfectant is chlorine.

Stabilised chlorine tablets are a simple yet effective way to keep on top of good pool hygiene. They are easy to use and gradually dissolve over time, ensuring a constant supply of chlorine in the water.

These tablets are available in two sizes: 20g and 200g. If you have an in-ground pool with a larger volume of water, 200g stabilised chlorine tablets are the recommended option as these are most effective in larger pools.

What are stabilised chlorine tablets?

Stabilised chlorine tablets are a sanitiser designed for swimming pools. They contain trichloroisocyanuric acid, which is the active component that kills bacteria and germs and controls algae levels.

Sunlight can break down chlorine, removing its disinfectant properties. However, stabilised – rather than unstabilised – chlorine tablets contain cyanuric acid which ensures the chlorine remains effective even when exposed to direct sunlight. So, by opting for stabilised chlorine tablets, it saves you the hassle of having to accurately measure the balance of chlorine and stabiliser yourself.

How to use 200g stabilised chlorine tablets

Keeping your pool clean should be a hassle-free process. Fortunately, our 200g stabilised chlorine tablets are straightforward to use.

There are two ways to add these chlorine tablets to your pool:

  • Skimmer: This is a quick way to chlorinate your pool. Here, one tablet is needed per 10,000 gallons of water and it takes between five and seven days to dissolve.
  • Floating dispenser: This takes around 10 to 14 days to fully dissolve and one tablet is required per 7,000 gallons of water. You’ll need to make sure the dispenser is thoroughly cleaned before you add the tablet.

Never place the tablets directly into the water. Doing so can bleach or stain the pool. A chlorine level of 1-3ppm in the water is the ideal amount.

Used alongside algaecide and flocculant, these chlorine tablets will ensure your pool is safe to swim in.
