Chemical: Calcium Chloride

Function: Increases the calcium hardness of the water. It is only required in soft water areas where the water supply does not contain sufficient levels of calcium.

Dosing Instructions (Pool)

• 1kg increases the calcium level of a 10,000 gallon pool by 12 parts per million.
• Add directly to the pool and brush if necessary to help it dissolve.
• Leave for 24 hours then re-test to ensure the calcium level is at least 100ppm.

Dosing Instructions (Spa)

In a spa the calcium hardness level will only need increasing when it is below 10 ppm as this is when corrosion can occur. However it is very unlikely that a water supply will have less than 10 ppm in it to begin with.

• 100 grams (1 scoop) will increase the calcium level by 50 ppm in a 1,000 litre spa.
• Add directly to the spa and brush if necessary to help it dissolve.
• Leave for 24 hours then re-test to ensure the calcium level is at least 10ppm.
