Chemical: Sodium Carbonate

Function: Increases the pH of the water.

Stating an accurate dosing amount can often be difficult due to the different nature of water supplies around the UK. The correct level required for your pool or spa will become evident after a few doses, but as a general guide follow the guidelines below.

Dosing Instructions (Pool)

• Add 450 grams per 10,000 gallons of pool water.
• Dissolve in warm water in a plastic bucket and distribute evenly around the pool with the filter operating.
• Leave for 24 hours then re-test to ensure pH level is between 7.2-7.4.

Dosing Instructions (Spa)

• Add 11 grams per 1,000 litres of spa water.
• Dissolve in warm water in a plastic bucket and distribute evenly around the pool with the filter operating.
• Leave for 24 hours then re-test to ensure pH level is between 7.0-7.6.
