Pool owners know just how important maintenance is for their water. Keeping things clear and clean requires regular sanitation. Stabilised chlorine granules will remove all bacteria and viruses, so you can make the most out of your little oasis.

These granules contain cyanuric acid which acts as a stabiliser for chlorine. This is important for outdoor pools as direct sunlight breaks down chlorine, so this ensures the chlorine remains active at all times. Our 10kg stabilised chlorine granules are suitable for a range of water sizes too including spas and large indoor pools.

What are stabilised chlorine granules?

Stabilised chlorine granules contain Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate which is a granular form of chlorine sanitiser suitable for pools and spas alike. It provides a cost-effective and practical solution for removing bacteria and viruses from pools.

This product can also be used as a shock treatment on small above-ground pools. Shock treatment involves adding a dose of a cleaning agent to clear it up quickly and remove algae, so your pool is back to looking its best.

When to use stabilised chlorine granules?

Swimming pools need regular maintenance to remain at their best. So, even if it appears clean and clear, we still recommend using stabilised chlorine granules every one to two weeks – especially during the summer months. If you’re using the swimming pool regularly, keeping it clear of harmful bacteria and viruses is a must.

The chlorine helps to clean the water but you’ll also benefit from using algaecides and flocculent too. They help to remove algae and keep the water crystal clear.

How to use our 10kg stabilised granular chlorine

For dosing, this product is straightforward to use. Swimming pools require one 100g scoop per 10,000 gallons which will increase the free chlorine level by 1 part per million (ppm). This scoop of granules should be dissolved in a plastic bucket or a skimming basket/strainer. The chlorine level should be at 1-3 ppm and PH levels should be 7.2-7.4.

If you’re dosing your spa, you should increase the free chlorine to 2.5ppm. To do this, add 5 grams of stabilised granular chlorine which is roughly a teaspoon. As a general rule of thumb, you should use one teaspoon per person using the spa. The chlorine level should be maintained at 2-4 ppm and the PH level at 7.0-7.6.
