Whether you’ve just bought your first pool or you’re a seasoned pro in pool maintenance, you’ll likely know about the importance of sanitising with chlorine. Chlorine plays a vital role in preventing the growth of bacteria and viruses in your pool, while also keeping it clean and clear for your next dip.

If your pool is outdoors, using stabilised chlorine granules along with algaecide and flocculant will help keep the water clean and safe.

What are stabilised chlorine granules?

Stabilised chlorine granules are a type of fine-grade chlorine that dissolve rapidly. They are easy to use and have little to no effect on pH levels.

Stabilised pool chlorine granules contain cyanuric acid, which acts as a stabiliser and offers protection from loss of chlorine caused by exposure to sunlight, making them the ideal choice for outdoor pools. A multi-functional product, they can also be used as a shock treatment on small, above-ground pools

Our 20kg stabilised chlorine granules are an efficient and cost-effective product that will help maintain your pool’s chlorine levels and keep harmful bacteria at bay.

Why use stabilised chlorine granules?

Chlorine is crucial for the maintenance of any outdoor pool. What makes our stabilised chlorine granules especially valuable is that they not only introduce chlorine to your pool water, but also reduce the risk of chlorine loss thanks to the stabiliser. This allows you to use less chlorine, which will be more cost-effective over time.

Opting for standard chlorine rather than a stabilised variety for your outdoor pool will mean you have to mix and add a stabiliser as well as the chlorine to ensure the sunlight doesn’t reduce the chlorine levels in the water. Choosing our stabilised chlorine granules will save you the hassle of measuring and mixing, so you can spend less time on maintenance and more time enjoying your pool.

How to use our stabilised chlorine granules

Our stabilised chlorine granules are easy to use. Simply dissolve the granules (one 100g scoop per 10,000 gallons of pool water) in warm water in a plastic bucket or place them in a skimming basket or strainer. This mixture can then be added to your pool feeder or dispenser.

For a shock dose, add 750 grams per 10,000 gallons. If there is algae present, this dose may need to be doubled or even trebled.

Please note: if you use a feeder or dispenser, ensure that the granules used are the same chemical (sodium dichloroisocyanurate). If another material has been used, you MUST wash the feeder out thoroughly before adding the granules.
